Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to MIMOO. By downloading, installing, or using the MIMOO mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MIMOO ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting.

2. Description of Service

MIMOO provides on-demand service experts to customers across Sri Lanka. Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Dispatching verified service experts (cleaners, electricians, plumbers, tutors, etc.)
  • Facilitating booking and scheduling of services
  • Processing secure payments
  • Providing real-time tracking of assigned service experts
  • Enabling communication between customers and their assigned experts
  • Offering a rating and review system

All service experts are part of the MIMOO team and operate under MIMOO's quality standards and guidelines.

3. User Eligibility

To use the MIMOO App, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of Sri Lanka or have a valid Sri Lankan address for service delivery
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials

4. Account Registration

4.1 Customer Accounts

To book services through MIMOO, you must create an account by providing your name, email address, phone number, and service address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information.

4.2 Service Expert Accounts

To join the MIMOO team as a service expert, applicants must complete a verification process including:

  • Submission of valid National Identity Card (NIC) or government-issued ID
  • Police clearance certificate
  • Relevant professional certifications (where applicable)
  • Profile photograph
  • Proof of address

MIMOO reserves the right to approve or reject service expert applications at our sole discretion.

5. Booking and Service Terms

5.1 Booking Process

When you book a service through MIMOO, you are entering into an agreement with MIMOO for the delivery of the requested service by one of our assigned experts.

5.2 Pricing

Service prices displayed on the App are determined by MIMOO. Prices are subject to change and may vary based on service type, location, time, and other factors.

5.3 Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policies vary by service type. Generally:

  • Free cancellation up to 2 hours before the scheduled service time
  • Cancellations within 2 hours may incur a cancellation fee
  • No-shows may be charged the full service amount

6. Payments

6.1 Payment Methods

MIMOO supports various payment methods including credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, and bank transfers. All payments are processed securely through our payment partners.

6.2 Service Expert Compensation

MIMOO service experts receive compensation for completed services as outlined in the MIMOO Service Expert Agreement.

6.3 Refunds

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • The assigned expert fails to arrive
  • The service is substantially different from what was described
  • You cancel within the free cancellation window

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users or MIMOO service experts
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
  • Attempt to bypass security measures
  • Use the App to collect information about other users
  • Engage in any form of discrimination
  • Circumvent the app to make direct payments to service experts

8. Service Expert Obligations

MIMOO service experts agree to:

  • Maintain all required licenses and certifications
  • Provide services in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate availability schedules
  • Treat customers with respect and courtesy
  • Not solicit customers for services outside of MIMOO
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Follow MIMOO's service standards and guidelines

9. Ratings and Reviews

After each completed service, both customers and service experts may leave ratings and reviews. Reviews must be:

  • Honest and accurate
  • Based on actual service experience
  • Free from offensive, discriminatory, or defamatory content

MIMOO reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property displayed on the MIMOO App are owned by or licensed to MIMOO. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • MIMOO strives to maintain the highest quality standards but cannot guarantee specific outcomes for individual services
  • MIMOO will make reasonable efforts to resolve any disputes between customers and service experts
  • MIMOO is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • MIMOO's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for services in the preceding 12 months

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MIMOO, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through:

  • First, informal negotiation by contacting our customer support
  • If unresolved, mediation through a mutually agreed mediator
  • If still unresolved, binding arbitration under the laws of Sri Lanka

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.

14. Termination

MIMOO may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the App will cease immediately
  • Any pending bookings may be cancelled
  • Outstanding payments will be processed according to our refund policy

You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting customer support.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
